Byron Bay 

Byron Bay is a beachside town located in the far north-eastern corner of NSW, 772kms north of Sydney and 165 kms south of Brisbane QLD. Cape Byron, the headland adjacent to the town is the eastern most point of mainland Australia. The town has several beaches which are popular for swimming and surfing. It is a resort popular with both domestic and international tourists, with beautiful scenery, beaches and wildlife.

There are many events held in Byron Bay including yoga retreats, music festivals including the East Coast Blues & Roots Festival and Splendour in the Grass plus the Byron Bay Writers Festival, Byron Bay Film Festival and Byron Underwater Festival. There is also the Byron Bay Triathon on the second Saturday in May each year with competitors from many countries competing in this Olympic Distance event. 

 

Byron Bay also has a number of regular markets including a weekly farmers' market every Thursday, large craft and food market on the first Sunday of each month plus an artisan market on Saturday evenings.
